Stream from your Mac to an LG TV
LG Smart TVs can often browse local media servers from the Home Dashboard, Media Player, or Photos & Videos app. Media Server Pro makes your shared Mac folders available there.
LG setup
- Put your Mac and LG TV on the same home network.
- Open Media Server Pro, add your media folder, and start the server.
- On the LG TV, open Home Dashboard, Media Player, or Photos & Videos.
- Choose Media Server Pro from the network device list and browse your files.

Common questions
My LG TV sees the server but a file will not play. Why?
The TV or receiving app decides which formats it can decode. If one file fails, test with a common MP4 file to confirm discovery and playback are working. If the media player bundled with your TV fails, try another compatible TV media app or a streaming device that can run a known-good app such as VLC or Kodi.
Can I keep using my Mac while it streams?
Yes. The app runs in the background from the menu bar.
Does this send my files to a cloud service?
No. It is local network streaming between your Mac and devices on the same network.
